This opera by Philip Glass was first performed in 2005. Waiting for the Barbarians is based on the 1980 novel by the South African writer, J.M. Coetzee, who also wrote "Disgrace", "Life & Times of Michael K", and "Diary of a Bad Year", along with winning Nobel Prize. The libretto...
